5 Hidden Paradises of Sithonia: Beaches You Must Discover

5 Hidden Paradises of Sithonia: Beaches You Must Discover

Halkidiki is world-renowned for its golden sands, but Sithonia (the second "leg") hides a charm reminiscent of exotic islands. While Lagomandra Beach, right in front of our hotel, is one of the most beloved destinations with its crystal-clear waters and pine forest, the surrounding area offers small, hidden treasures waiting to be explored.

If you are looking for seclusion, tranquility, and pristine nature, here are 5 "hidden paradises" just a short distance from Lagomandra Beach Hotel & Suites.

1. Kalogria Beach (The Hidden Path)

While the main beach is famous, if you walk a bit further south or swim towards the small islet of "Kastri," you will find tiny coves offering absolute peace. The white sand and shallow turquoise waters create a setting that looks like a natural pool.

  • Why go: Ideal for snorkeling around the rock of Kastri.

2. Aretes Beach

Just past Tripotamos, you will find a series of three consecutive bays. The largest is organized, but the two smaller ones to the left are the epitome of seclusion, surrounded by high cliffs and pine trees reaching the water's edge.

  • Why go: To enjoy the sunset in a setting that feels untouched by time.

3. Kryptos (Hidden) – Near Vourvourou

The eastern side of Sithonia hides Diaporos island, but the coast opposite the island has small "fjords." Kryptos is a narrow bay with very warm waters and total protection from the winds.

  • Tip: Rent a small boat from Vourvourou (no license required) to reach spots inaccessible by road.

4. Tigania Beach

Between Sykia and Sarti, Tigania is an earthly paradise that only locals knew about until a few years ago. The wild beauty of the rocks combined with the tropical feel of the sand will leave you speechless.

  • Why go: For stunning photos and the feeling of being on an exotic coast of the Indian Ocean.

5. Ampelos (Porto Koufo)

Before reaching the impressive natural harbor of Porto Koufo, there is Ampelos beach. It is a small, secluded bay with deep, dark blue waters—the ultimate sanctuary for those wanting to escape beach bars and loud music.

  • Why go: For absolute silence and the raw beauty of the landscape.

Tips for Our Explorers:

  • Preparation: Many of these beaches are not organized. Make sure to bring water, an umbrella, and necessary snacks from our hotel's mini-market.
  • Car Rental: The reception at Lagomandra Beach Hotel can assist you in renting the right vehicle for your excursions.
  • Respect Nature: Help us keep these paradises clean by taking any trash back with you.

Returning to your base... After a day full of discoveries, the comfort of your room and a dinner overlooking the sunset at our restaurant is the perfect way to end your day in Sithonia.
